A couple of weeks ago I was sent a link by Black Diamond Images via his blog Black Diamond Run which I wanted to post asap. Its been a huge couple of weeks... more on that later!
For now I will introduce you to this excellent Wikipedia style Flickr group - IDENTIFYING AUSTRALIAN RAINFOREST PLANTS TREES and FUNGI. The group currently has 343 members from all over the world and is free to join. All you need to do is open a free (or paid) Flickr account, locate the group and join up. You can then become involved in sending images to the group yourself, you do not have to be an expert but you run the risk of becoming one. Through the groups 2bid IDENTIFICATION process you can seek identification of unidentified Australian rainforest plants growing in your garden or those you might photograph in your walks in Australia's glorious rainforests. The groups many Botanical Advisors may also offer assistance as required.

I have dipped into the groups DATABASE INDEX several times in the last 18 months... but I want to take time to recommend it to you here today and strongly suggest you allow a little time to peruse the extensive index of links available there.
The DATABASE INDEX draws images together into easily accessible hyperlinks based on specialised acronymic tags. The tag for Australian Rainforest Fruits and seeds is - arffs.
At that link you will find over 2,600 images with the number growing daily.
The fruits can be further broken down and accessed by colour. Scroll down the DATABASE INDEX to find the fruit colour links as copied below.
Tag applied to the MATURE OUTER FRUIT CASING COLOUR (or
the fruit colour in the actual image or the colour of the seed within the fruit casing)
RED FRUIT ..................Tag = redarffs
MAROON FRUIT .................Tag = maroonarffs
WHITE FRUIT ...................Tag = whitearffs
CREAM FRUIT ...................Tag = creamarffs
YELLOW FRUIT ..................Tag = yellowarffs

PINK FRUIT ....................Tag = pinkarffs

When you for example click on the RED FRUIT link the first image you may come to is this -

I also noticed that there is a link taking you to all Australian rainforest images photographed in Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens where I worked last year. It is in a wider group of links that pick up all identified rainforest plant images photographed in:-
Below are some Australian rainforest images photographed in Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens by Tatters from Brisbane who has been a regular contributor to the rainforest group over many years.
Tatters is also the energetic administrator of the sister Flickr group - FIELD GUIDE - FLOWERING TREES of the WORLDwhich also has a wonderful DATABASE of identified flowering tree images. That group also has a place to post fruit imagesHERE.

Hey Donna,
I was thinking of you yesterday and wondering how you were... I hope you have a wonderful exhibition and all is good over there.
This is wonderful yes... I didn't do the work for this... the person behind Black Diamond images is the brain!
I cant seem to stop finding things though... sometimes the time to post is the challenge.
